LD Driving Bits Liverpool Jointed 45° Curved Mouthpiece

In the Tulip, or hinged, Liverpool bit, the upper arm with the cheekpiece connection is hinged. The curb chain attachment sits a little lower than usual on a loop attached to the upper arm. Pressure is not distributed to the poll due to the moving upper arm, and so this bit can be severe.
